To implement this program you will need to coordinate implementing the REDS (below) specification into plans with AES. Once implemented we will begin forwarding updates to your company that includes the amount of refrigerant banked, excess parts (Re-Use), and a break down of commodities quarterly that have been recycled. 

 

 

Rooftop Equipment Demolition and Salvage Requirements

 

Mechanical Contractor shall not include salvage credit for rooftop equipment units in this project bid.

 

The awarded contractor shall be responsible for the removal and replacement of all rooftop equipment units listed and shown on the project documents.  As noted, the awarded contractor shall remain responsible for the removal of all controls equipment from existing rooftop equipment units, returning control components to the construction manager.  The awarded contractor shall also be responsible for coordinating with AES Industries, Inc. for the existing rooftop equipment units to be removed from the store site.  The awarded contractor shall coordinate with the store manager an area for temporary unit storage on grade in the most viable secure location providing for a one week notice to AES Industries, Inc. as to the date of unit pick-up.  All rooftop equipment units scheduled for pick-up are the property of the store and shall not be damaged or decommissioned prior to pick-up.  The existing rooftop equipment units shall be removed from the site that same week as the unit replacement and loaded onto the AES trailers within two hours of the scheduled pick-up time.  The awarded contractor must provide all labor and equipment required to load units. The units must be properly packaged to meet flatbed or less than truckload (LTL) requirements. The units must have all access doors, hoods, etc. secured and/or removed prior to shipment. Contractor must remove or secure these items to avoid equipment damage or over dimensional freight.

 

AES Industries, Inc. shall comply to and follow EPA Clean Air Act, Title VI, Section 608 and Code of Federal Regulation Title 40, Park 82 when removing air conditioning or refrigerated equipment units.  AES shall document all removed rooftop equipment units recording their identification numbers, model and serial numbers, the amount of refrigerant recovered from each unit, the date of decommissioning, including the company name and signature of an on-site supervisor.  The awarded contractor shall continue to provide for all other documentation for new rooftop equipment units installed in accordance with the specifications and required project close-out documents.
